About Me
I am a teacher of design and technology at an International Baccalaureate school in Minnesota. I have 15 years of experience delivering diverse content to diverse learners.
In 2011, I was fortunate enough to begin an international teaching career in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. My 5 years of travel and international experience taught me so much about the world and how people from different cultures learn and grow. I'm currently on a mission to modernize the way learning is delivered. The learning of the future will be decentralized, on-demand, and constantly changing. I seek to provide this for my students by modernizing both what they learn, and how they learn it. As someone that grew up during the 1990's, I am uniquely suited to guide learners of all ages toward a greater command of 21st century skills. I came to ubiquitous digital technology young enough to have a natural command of it, but old enough to still remember the industrial mindset of the 20th century. I can easily shift between old and new understandings, and have a deep empathy for people on either side of this divide. When I'm not teaching, I'm learning. I love exploring new skills, creative hobbies, and spend too much money on them. Lately, I've been into 3D printing, building drones, and designing games. I'm always ready to be a dilettante in some new field! |

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime
Mark Twain
